The OS is great but the seller is not. I will have paid the seller for a counterfeit Product Key as well as having to purchase a genuine one From Microsoft. I do NOT recommend this selleer. Report abuse. I am both a Windows user and program developer.
I bought Win 8. The easy access to numerous programs on the start popup and toolbar launching is several times better than anything else. A few weeks ago my Win 7 Home Edition 64 bit portable decided to fail in an unusual way.
It told me the Login Process couldn't recognize any of my passwords. Subsequent attempts to apply the restore disk or crack the code. The only thing I was able to do was to backup my data.
Finally, I applied this Update product using the custom option and crossed my fingers. It updated the Home Edition and retained my data perfectly. I was able to start using it right away and load in the special drivers for the portable.
I never had an ugly surprise and the windows update went smoothly in both cases just the way it should. Now, I have several protections against this problem happening again. I use my portable for business and it's important to my career to have one fully operational at all times. Connects to my mobile phone with no problems and even converts video media automatically onto it without the SE software.
The screen anchoring mechanics are great, it is a shame there is no anchoring on the sides that connects to the other screen's desktop. So far I like this OS, it is what vista should have been. After some difficulty in getting this to accept the password and contact with the seller who sent me two further codes, it worked ok for about a year until I rebuilt the PC. When I tried to reload it using the working code Microsoft informed me that little surprise after the initial problems, it was a fake copy and was locked out.
Further the disc has now started delaminating and its copper back has fallen off. No bargain! After the dreadful release of Vista I was a bit sceptical about Window 7. However the chatter on the web regarding the beta version of Windows 7 was quite positive so I took the plunge and installed it on my main machine. What a surprise Microsoft have almost got a working operating system at last.
It detected all my hardware, using the web mostly to find the drivers. It works with all my programs, unlike Vista, and is happy to let my Internet security program handle my security, unlike Vista. It has a few useful features like a sleep mode that actually wakes up when you need to use the computer, first time this has ever worked on a Microsoft operating system.
A taskbar that actually allows you to pin applications to it, and you can move them to a location that you choose. A show desktop button, Snap windows to the sides of the screen etc. So far I have had no problems using my computer with Windows 7 installed, however time will tell! See all reviews.
